Traditional Gouache
A versatile and challenging water based medium. It can be used loosely like watercolor for fast sketches, or tightly for a much more realistic result.
I found that gouache continuously challenges me. If I am not paying attention the paint will come right up off the paper, causing a hard to fill in hole in the paint layer. Gouache, the way i use it is a very demanding medium. But I believe that by meeting the challenges of the medium, and each time trying to do it better, you grow as an artist and as a person.
These are some of my body of gouache work, there are a LOT more, but this is representational of what I do in gouache.
