Graphite & Pen/Ink

I love working in graphite and also in pen/ink. I believe that regular use of monotone work keeps an artist’s eye sharp and also reinforces the rendering of value, which carries over into color work.

The range of values you can achieve in graphite and/or ink work is rich. I believe that there is also a quiet elegance that comes through when color is so restricted.
